Aroma: Light-moderate toasted malt sweetness. Moderate coffee with slight green pepper that fades quickly. Moderate citrus hop aroma. Undertones of dark chocolate and caramel. 9/12

Appearance: Very dark brown. Opaque with good clarity when held to light. Light tan head with excellent retention. 3/3

Flavor: Low-moderate malt with minor dark chocolate, very light caramel, and minor toasted character. Light-moderate coffee blends well. Very minor citrus hop flavor, moderate hop bitterness. Balance is slightly toward bitterness. Clean and dry, but the chocolate and caramel give a light impression of sweetness. Minor dark chocolate, coffee, and hop bitterness in the aftertaste. 15/20

Mouthfeel: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. No warm alcohol. 4/5

Overall Impression: The coffee works quite well with the roasted/toasted malt, both are recognizable but neither dominates. A pleasant combination of coffee and the American Brown Ale base style. 7/10
