Notes: Blackrocks’ website describes this beer as a German/Bohemian Pilsner.
Aroma: Moderate citrus and flowery hops. Light cracker and honey malt character. Low-moderate lager character. 7/12
Appearance: Yellow, slight haze (that’s fine with me). Bright white head with fine to small bubbles and excellent retention. 3/3
Flavor: Moderate-high hop bitterness accentuated by a dry minerality in the water profile. Light lemon hop flavor. Low pale malt with a hint of cracker. Light lager character. Dry and clean. Balance is well toward bitterness. The aftertaste has long lasting moderate-high hop bitterness with light lemon and a hint of grain sweetness. 16/20
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Moderate-high carbonation. No warm alcohol. 5/5
Overall Impression: A well made German Pils that is clean, dry, and has excellent bitterness throughout. 8/10
Final Score: 39/50 B+
