Special Ingredients: Guatemalan coffee, cocoa nibs
Can
Tasting on: 1/21/18
Glass: Stout
Aroma: Overtones of moderate coffee and chocolate. Undertones of minor hops and moderate cream. 8.5/10
Appearance: Amber with golden highlights and a slight haze. Bright white head with good retention and fine to medium bubbles. 9/10
Flavor: Moderate coffee and minor cream in the beginning. Coffee continues in the middle with light hop bitterness and minor sweetness. Hop bitterness increases to moderate in the end and there is a hint of lemon. Lingering hop bitterness and coffee in the aftertaste. 17.5/20
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, no alcohol. 8.5/10
Overall Impression: Reminded me of a cold brew coffee with cream and hops. It lacks the complexity that dark malt adds to a stout, and it’s more of a golden ale with coffee, but it is still interesting. 45/50
