Aroma: Overtones of citrus, lemon, pine and spices. Undertones of Belgian yeast and candi sugar. 8.5/10
Appearance: Black with dark amber highlights. Light tan head with excellent retention. 9.5/10
Flavor: Subdued dark malt in the beginning followed by dry cocoa, raisan and nutmeg in the middle. Prune, light caramel and cocoa in the end. Malt lingers in the aftertaste along lemon and pine. 17.5/20
Mouthfeel: Light-medium body with low-moderate carbonation. No hot alcohol. 8.5/10
Overall Impression: Lots of subtle, rich flavors, but surprisingly hoppy (and occasionally bright) after aging for four years. 45/50
