IPA
BJCP Style: 14B. American IPA
ABV: 6.9%
IBU: 72
Canned
Tasting on: 1/12/15
Glass: Craft Pint
Aroma: Overtones of strong, tart grapefruit hops. Undertones of malt sweetness and caramel. 9/10
Appearance: Copper with a pale white head. Good head retention. Excellent clarity. 9/10
Flavor: Moderate hop bitterness begins the beer with the hops gaining definition in the middle as citrus notes show through. Toasted malt and some malt sweetness come through at the end before both the hops and malt drop off at the finish. They return in the aftertaste where malt sweetness and citrus (occasionally minty) hops fade away. 18/20
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Moderate-low carbonation. No alcohol. 9/10
Overall Impression: The citrus hop profile melds seamlessly with the malt backbone, making for a nicely balanced IPA. 46/50
Final Score: 91%
